Our landscape maintenance crews are all trained to notice potential fire hazards. Well maintained (fire defensible space around the home) landscaping zones may help protect a home from fire. Our goal is to keep all plant life within the first 30 feet of your home (zone 1) green, well watered and cut back away from the home. The next 70 feet (zone 2) we recommend that we should regularly remove dead branches, litter, pine needles, leaves and weeds. We may also recommend we should selectively thin brush and trees to minimize the abundance of fuel. We use the 30 & 70 feet as maintenance guidelines where at times we might recommend a more conservative approach.
We will also maintain an appropriate irrigation schedule that will not only benefit the plants health but could also help protect your home from fire.
